In recent years J. F. Sochurek has left behind all representational painting and turned to pure colour. This artistic process culminates in the set of works he calls “WINDOWS”, in allusion to a pseudo-world portrayed by the media.
Drawing on his earlier works showing triangles, he uses metal elements (anodyzed aluminium pipes) again in his new pictures and picture-objects. These metal parts seem to divide windows systematically on different surfaces with colour plates with a texture of bubble wrap and they give the impression of strong, colourful, dynamic three-dimensionality.
Despite their minimalist reduction they convey a very dynamic and expressive message.
In contrast to “WINDOWS” the artist has also been working on installations referring to specific themes.
